Just nice places...

Enjoying, eating, talking, reading, studying, …

A nice place…the Vossenplein in Brussels

The "
Vlooienmarkt in de Marollen" is a flea market in the Brussels Marollen area. It's a nice place to be on a Sunday morning. You can find here all sorts of things. I rarely buy something at the market, but I enjoy the special atmosphere. The recent movie TINTIN, "The secret of the Unicorn", is based on the story by the famous Belgian cartoonist Hergé and the story actually begins at this flea market. This is the place where TINTIN purchases a model of a sailing ship, called "The Unicorn". The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson.

The flea market is at the Vossenplein in Brussels. Next to it is the Blaes Street where you can find great art and decoration shops that are also open on Sunday. (Click on pictures to enlarge)

The laughing lady is Monique, she is a real Marollien. For 34 years she has her own market stall at the flea market.
