The Marriage

Elegance, patience, beauty, peaceful, efficiency...

Tokyo...

Every time I'm in Tokyo I'm impressed by how friendly and helpful Japanese people are towards foreigners. You can ask a question to a complete stranger in the street and immediately he or she is ready to help you. Even when they don't speak English, they do every effort to communicate with you in order to help you. Another thing that is striking is how clean Tokyo is. A city with over 13 million habitants is clean and everything is efficiently organized. In Paris I have difficulty to take the Metro because I feel like in a maze, but in Tokyo (where the Metro network is much bigger) it is really easy because the information is clear and accessible even for a foreigner. Elegance and esthetics is another feature of the Tokyo culture. You can see it for example in the way people dress and in their great old and new architecture.

The Marriage

In the garden of the main temple in Tokyo a newly married couple is patiently waiting while their picture is taken. The silence and beauty of the temple and the beauty of the couple with their traditional cloths created a peaceful atmosphere. The photographer and his assistants spend lots of time to put every detail into position. I was observing the event for more than an hour and it was interesting to see how everything about the photo shoot was done in an elegant and efficient way.
